Here's the "birth story" for Logan (both for our memory and for you guys to enjoy):
So I went to the doctor on Thursday 4/21/2011(38 weeks) and was a bit discouraged because I was still just hanging out at 2cm dilated. I figured I would be back one week later for another check. Friday was Good Friday and Daniel was actually running a fever so we all laid around the house all day. I was actually exhausted and didn't feel like doing much so I was glad Daniel wasn't running around like crazy.
On Saturday we woke up and went to the zoo with the Griffins. I was cramping the whole time there but nothing consistent. We got home and cleaned up to go to our church's Easter service, then went to dinner. Throughout the service I noticed I was getting contractions, so at dinner I decided to time them, but they were around 10 minutes apart and not too strong. Those contractions went away by 9:00 that night so I figured it was just false labor and went to bed.
Sunday I woke up at 3:30 or 4:00 in the morning with pretty strong contractions, so I got up (since I couldn't really sleep) and started timing them. They were about 10 minutes apart, then got to about 7 minutes apart (I had planned on calling the doctor when they were 5 minutes apart). I got up and showered, and packed a bag for Daniel, and while I was up and active, the contractions got to be about 2 minutes apart!! Oops--I kinda hurridly called my dad and stepmom because they were going to come down and get Daniel, but since the contractions got so close together so quicly I didn't think we would have time to wait for them to get down there, so we packed up Daniel and brought him to the hospital with us. They met us at the hospital to pick him up and enjoy Easter at their house. We got to the hospital at 7:45am and I was 7cm dilated. Since I was so far I immediately asked for the epidural b/c I didn't want to progress too far and not be able to get one!! They quickly got me set up with the epidural and things progressed well. By around 11am I was fully dilated and everyone came into the room for delivery--a few pushes and Logan Phillip Miller was here at 11:20am on 4/24/11!! He was 6lbs 13oz and was 19 1/4 inches in length. He had lots of hair and had a great set of lungs!!
