Daniel-isms

Funny things Daniel has said recently that keep me laughing:
1.  Scott went to hang out with his brother one weekend so I told Daniel, "It's just going to be a mommy, Daniel, and Logan day!".  He got a sad look on his face, so I said, what's wrong?!  He said "I just want it to be Daniel and Mommy".  I said "Well, Daniel, what about Logan?!".  His response--"We can sell him..."

2.  "Mommy, our new house has 5 bathrooms".  I look at him and say, no Daniel, it has 4.  He was like, no, it has 5, and he points outside and says the yard is his 5th bathroom.

3.  I had to take Daniel to get blood work to check for a peanut allergy.  He did pretty good, until the needle came at him :)  The phlebologist was really good and got his vein on the first stick, but he was NOT a happy camper and was crying and yelled "GET THAT THING OUT OF ME!!!" .  He had me and the phlebologist cracking up (once the needle was out and I consoled him and he was done crying of course :) )

That is all I can think of recently that has kept us laughing.  I'm sure there will be more!! :)

Happy birthday to my boys!

Scott and Daniel celebrated their birthdays in July.  We had fun celebrating at home with a cookie cake for Scott.  Then Daniel's birthday we celebrated at Chuck E. Cheese.  He loves that place, and always asks to go, so he was super excited that he could celebrate there!!  I can't believe my boys are getting so old!! :)

Update

I haven't updated in a while, so I'll just post a few photos of what we've been up to--not much, just hanging out and enjoying the summer!

Farm

We went to my grandparents' ranch in Centerville, TX to celebrate my grandfather's 85th birthday. His birthday is actually in January, but my grandma wanted to host a fish fry once it got warmer (I think March may have been more appropriate than June, but it was still a good time). It was a beautiful day, and while it was hot, there was lots of shade to hang out and enjoy the country air. We played washers, and my brother and Scott took the kiddos fishing. There are tons of catfish in the pond, so they didn't have to wait long to catch anything--and we of course threw them all back. Then my grandpa took us all on a hayride to feed the cows range cubes (treats for the cows) and feed the donkeys their treats (carrots, apples, and oatmeal cookies). The kids had a BLAST and I am really excited to bring the boys back up there. It was fun watching them do the stuff I had fun doing while I was growing up.

Trip to Dallas

Our friend Emily came in to Dallas from Boston to run a half marathon, so we all decided to make it an Aggie reunion. It has been a big year for our Aggie friends--2 friends got married late last year, one of which recently bought a first home, one friend had a new baby (Logan's new girlfriend), one friend is due to have their first baby in August, and another is getting married in October. So we all had a lot to celebrate and it had been a long time since we had seen everyone. We got together one night at Lauren's new house. It was great to catch up with everyone. Then on Sunday we went to lunch and then headed to Top Golf. It was a pretty neat place where they have turned a driving range in to a game where you get points depending on where you hit it. Daniel got to rent his own set of clubs and he LOVED it. I think I'm going to have a little golfer on my hands!!

Logan turns 1!!!

My baby is one!! Wow--what a year! We decided to have Logan's 1st birthday party at the house like we did for Daniel's first birthday. Although when I started thinking back to Daniel's 1st birthday party, everyone we knew with kids had one year olds, so it was easy to plan! Now, our friends also have one year olds, but there's a whole bunch of 3 and 4 year olds, and some older neighbor kids, and more cousins to think about!! So this party started to get a bit stressful when I thought about how to keep all these kiddos entertained. I ended up renting a big bouncy house with a slide, which seemed to entertain the toddlers and big kids well enough. Logan had his 1 year shots 2 days before the party, so he wasn't feeling 100%. Once the party got underway, though, he started to loosen up a bit. By the time it was cake time, he did great!! He followed in his big brother's foot steps and smashed the cake to bits. I was smart this time though and did it outside to reduce the clean-up! Then it was time for presents. My friend Becky got him a Cozy Coupe which was the hit of the party for all the kids!! It was so much fun and we hope everyone who made it had a great time too!! Oh, and Logan will always be my "little" baby :) Length-29 inches (15th percentile) Weight-21 lbs (50th percentile)
