Silly big brother

Poor Logan--now that he is a bit more interactive Daniel is really having fun including him while he "plays". I'm constantly having to watch him to make sure he doesn't get too rough, and when I correct him he says "Don't worry, he likes it!". Here's an example:
Yes...those are stickers all over Logan's face. Haha, Logan really didn't seem to mind, so why not, right?!

September

This has been a busy month. As the previous post says, we took a day trip down to the beach one weekend. The next weekend, we had Haley's 3rd birthday party which was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I didn't get too many pictures from that. After the party, the Keys came back to our house for the night and Daniel had his first sleepover--we pulled out his trundle bed and him and Marshall slept in his room. Well, it took them a while to finally fall asleep, and many threats of being separated if they didn't stop playing/talking!! The next morning, after some donuts the boys rode their bikes together around the block a few times. Later, we went to the Downtown Aquarium and the boys had a fun time riding the train, seeing sharks and fish, riding a carousel, and jumping in a bouncy house. Daniel and Marshall have so much fun together everytime they see each other!! Logan has had quite a few milestones this month, too. He turned 5 months last week, and he now has 2 teeth (both on the bottom), he can sit on his own now, and he "can" roll both ways, although he usually will roll from his back to his tummy and get stuck and scream until I roll him back to his back. I don't know if he forgot how to roll from tummy to back or what! I attempted rice cereal a few weeks ago, but he didn't seem to be a big fan, so I waited until the other day. The second attempt went much better and now when I feed him I can't shovel it in fast enough!! He cries if I take too long to get it in his mouth!! It is so fun watching him progress, but it's also sad how fast he is growing up!! Here's a few pictures for the month:

Galveston

We took a day trip to Galveston a few weeks ago for Vanessa's birthday and the kiddos had a great time. The 4 toddlers all did great in the water, playing in the sand, playing football, chasing birds, and building castles. The 4 babies did well laying in the shade and playing with each other. Daniel had so much fun, I think next year we will go and make a whole weekend of it!

Austin trip

Last weekend we headed to Austin to celebrate Marshall's 3rd birthday and Danielle's 30th birthday (although that part was a surprise)!! It was also our first time to meet cutie pie Harper! Logan was enamored ;) Marshall's birthday party was at a bounce house and all the kids had a great time, and so did the dads! Poor guys were sweatier than the kids by the end of the party. After the party, we all headed back to the Keys' house for a surprise party for Danielle. We had a great night hanging out at their house, and the boys had fun playing with some of Marshall's new toys, including the guitar. They even got to wear matching superhero costumes that Parker gave to Daniel and Marshall. They spent the better part of the evening running up and down the street getting the "bad guys". Once the night was over, they all got to take a bath together and get ready for bed. They were exhausted after a long, fun day!! The next morning we got to hang out with the Keys outside and enjoy some cooler weather. It was a fun weekend and we can't wait to all hang out again soon!!

4 months

Logan's had a busy month! He's in daycare everyday now and is doing great there! His teachers are impressed with how much he "talks"! He has rolled over from his tummy to his back, and tries to roll back to tummy but can't quite swing those thighs over! We got his exersaucer out last week and he likes to have something else to play in. Daniel likes playing in it as much as Logan does!! Daniel gets in it and has to sit on his knees b/c he's so big. When it's Logan's turn to play Daniel stays on the outside of it and helps him play with the toys. Other than that Logan is a great baby and is always smiling at us!

Maine

Scott and I left the boys for a weekend to go to our college friend Emily's wedding, which was in Maine. I was VERY apprehensive to leave the boys, especially Logan since this would be the first time to leave him. Once we were there, I still missed them but we still had a great time. The weather was an amazing 65-70 degrees, which was a relief after spending the summer in Houston weather of >100 degrees.

We flew in Friday, and that evening we had the rehearsal dinner, which included a lobster bake, where they cooked the live lobsters right in front of us on an open fire. It was our first time to eat a whole lobster where you have to crack it, and I sure made a mess!! Later that night because it got so cool we hung around a campfire and had roasted marshmallows.

Saturday, all the girls in the wedding spent the morning getting pampered and having our hair and make-up done. Scott got to go explore some of the little towns around our Inn. He went to a place called the Lobster Dock and had famous lobster rolls!! I think Scott probably had 4 or 5 lobsters the whole weekend!

The wedding was beautiful and the bride looked amazing! The reception was gorgeous--her mom did a fantastic job decorating the tables. Emily and her new husband Jeff are self-proclaimed nerds and love to read, so there was a book theme to the decorations. They had a really cool old-school card catilogue set up at the tent entrance which is where you looked to see your table assignment. The tables had old classic books on them and also there were several framed pictures on each table of the bride and groom throughout their lives. We all had a fantastic time at the reception and it was a lot of fun catching up with college friends. Early Sunday morning it was time to hit the road for a long day of flying to get back to my boys!!
