Crawfish boil/fish fry

We got together at Courtney's house one beautiful Sunday for a crawfish boil and fish fry. The kids were all in awe with the crawfish--Caitlyn had to go keep looking at the "bugs". Scott and Daniel had fun riding Colton's motorized scooter. Can't wait for more of these spring days!!

First haircut!

Logan was born with so much hair, so it started getting out of control really early! After Daniel started saying his little wings looked like Logan had an octopus on his head (when they were taking a bath), I figured it was time to get his hair cut. He did so great and looked so handsome after!! BEFORE:

Happy New Year!!

For New Year's Eve Scott's parents were still in town so we took advantage of having babysitters around and had a date night. We actually put the boys to bed and went and had a late dinner together. We were home and in bed by 11, and would have missed ringing in the New Year, but Logan decided to wake up and cry to make sure we didn't miss it :) On New Year's day we went to the Elledges' house. It turned out to be a gorgeous day, a bit windy but otherwise perfect weather!! The big kids had a great time playing outside with cars, baseball, and the bouncy house! The babies played in the playroom a bit then came out to watch their siblings. We ate some pizza, fruit, brownies, and of course cabbage and black-eyed-peas for the new year!! It was a great day and I hope we can make hanging out together on New Year's Day a tradition!

8 months

Geez where has this year gone?!! I can't believe Logan is 8 months already. He started army crawling at the beginning of December, but would only move if he was going after something he really wanted. Right before Christmas he started crawling on all 4's and now he won't stop!! Over Christmas I introduced formula and he has done really well with it, so that will hopefully give me a bit more flexibility/freedom!! He really likes his pureed food--I haven't found anything he doesn't like, yet. He is a very happy baby and LOVES watching his big brother--I'm sure he will be copying everything he does very soon!! I had a "Baby's 1st Christmas" Santa hat that I used for Daniel and I spent the month of December looking for it but I couldn't find it!! As we were putting away Christmas decorations, I finally found it--in the box I thought it was in but it was hiding under an old tree-skirt. Anyways, even though Christmas was over, I decided to get a few shots of him wearing the hat!

Christmas 2011

Christmas was so much fun this year with 2 kiddos. On Christmas Eve went to our church who had a special Christmas Eve service. It was really neat because instead of sending the kids to the children's area, they got to stay in with all of the adults and go up on the front of the stage and sing songs. We had been practicing with Daniel for a couple of weeks, but I wasn't sure if he would go up there because it is such a huge place. He went up there and did a GREAT job!! I was impressed. After that, for Christmas Eve we always go to my dad's house where there's always at least 30 people--a crazy mad house. This year we had a Mexican theme to Christmas--we had tamales, fajitas, corn, beans, rice, tres leches, and a ton more I don't even remember! Santa came over before he set off for a long night of delivering presents to say hi to the kiddos. He gave them all coloring books and said he would bring the rest of the presents to their houses when they went to bed. The look of sheer adoration and magic on Daniel's face when he saw Santa is priceless! We opened presents over there and then headed home where Daniel put out milk, cookies, and carrots. Christmas morning was so much fun! I was afraid Daniel would wake up before us and go straight to the living room and I would miss the look on his face, but he came and got into our bed like he usually does, then we got up and opened presents. He did a great job helping Logan, who seemed more interested in eating the paper :) I made our traditional Christmas morning breakfast casserole, then we got to hang out and play with all of our new toys!! Christmas evening we went to my grandparents' house in Conroe for our traditional Christmas feast. It was delicious this year and a nice and relaxing time. On Monday the Miller family came over to do Christmas. We had Chinese food, including Peking Duck, then got to open MORE presents. We will definitely need to move into a bigger house after this Christmas season!!
